Ingredients
- 500g boneless chicken (cut into bite-sized pieces)
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp chili powder (adjust to taste)
- ½–1 cup heavy cream
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro (chopped)
Instructions
- 1 Wash and cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
- 2 In a bowl, add yogurt.
- 3 Add lemon juice to the yogurt.
- 4 Mix in turmeric powder.
- 5 Add cumin powder.
- 6 Add ginger-garlic paste.
- 7 Add salt and mix well.
- 8 Add chicken and coat thoroughly with marinade.
- 9 Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- 10 Heat 1 tbsp butter in a pan on medium-high heat.
- 11 Add marinated chicken without overcrowding.
- 12 Cook until lightly charred and mostly cooked (6–8 minutes).
- 13 Remove chicken and set aside.
- 14 In the same pan, add remaining butter.
- 15 Add crushed tomatoes and cook until thickened.
- 16 Stir in garam masala and chili powder.
- 17 Return chicken to the pan and mix well.
- 18 Simmer on low-medium heat for 15 minutes.
- 19 Add heavy cream and simmer for 5 more minutes.
- 20 Season with salt, garnish with cilantro, and serve hot.
